Cates Park Final Designs
Finalized the Cates Parks Designs today: 1 tabloid poster, 1 bilboard & 3 signs (different from first two designs so that they can be reused annually.  The Tabloid: The Bilboard: Lesson in designing bilboards: don’t work at actual size, just make it a higher dpi to account for the size change. What a pain it has been not knowing that little snippet.  overall, I am very pleased...

I am starting to get into freelancing, and still unsure how to proceed in a few areas. I asked forrst (a community of designers and developers, many of whom I have a lot of respect for their opinion) the following question, and got some great answers. So great that I thought that they were worth sharing.  I’ve been weighing the pros and cons of freelancing vs. working at a firm a lot...

Finally did the bare minimum for personal branding...
Made an icon for all of the places I am on the web - since I recognize a lot of the designers with the same plan as me by their icons. Thought it was time that I help them to recognize me too. Ego Boost & Bummer
I just got recruited by an ad agency! Apparently the guys who printed my resume gave them a copy (awesome)  - but then I told her where I live and she said “oh honey, you don’t want to work out here, we’re on the edge of Surrey and Langley.” Then I told her I don’t have a car, and that clinched it; no bus goes out there.  Damn.  (But cool)
